The project is built to distinguish documented history, primary material, informed interpretation, and internet lore.
This page establishes the source framework for Submitted for Your Approval. Individual articles will cite the specific materials used when they are published.
Primary-source priorities
- Published and archival interviews with Rod Serling.
- Recorded speeches, lectures, and public appearances.
- Original scripts, teleplays, production documents, and authorized publications when available.
- Broadcast works themselves, including The Twilight Zone and Serling’s wider television and film work.
- Contemporaneous newspaper, magazine, trade-publication, and network records.

Editorial standard
Interpretation is welcome. Fabrication is not. Where facts are disputed, uncertain, or based on recollection rather than surviving documentation, articles should say so plainly.
Episode lore gets repeated for decades and eventually starts masquerading as primary history. This project will favor original documents and credible scholarship whenever they are available.
Copyright and ownership
Rod Serling, The Twilight Zone, related character names, episode titles, production imagery, and associated trademarks and copyrights belong to their respective rights holders. This project uses names and limited source material for independent commentary, criticism, education, historical discussion, and identification.
